“In more than 20 years of pastoring, I’ve had to learn how to manage the stress of leading people, developing leaders, solving problems, building systems, and casting vision. And in the middle of all of that, I’m also responsible for preparing and delivering sermons week after week.

There came a point when I realized I needed to get better—and more efficient—in all of those areas. Sermon preparation, in particular, was something I had struggled to improve on my own. I often felt like I was running up against deadlines, trying to refine ideas at the last minute.

That’s when I decided to stop trying to do it alone and begin collaborating.

Working with Josh has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in that area. He supports me in places where I know I need help—research, clarifying ideas, refining interpretation, and creatively developing illustrations.
